I am choosing my words carefully so as not to upset the balances of the universe and jinx this for us but… WE FOUND AN APARTMENT! Okay, okay… everything is approved- pending the arrival of our parents’ guarantor forms in the mail tomorrow. Other than that, we seem to be set! Quite a change of morale: from down in the dumps about whether or not we would EVER find a decent and affordable apartment, to excited but absolutely petrified upon walking into Wells Fargo to transfer a few thousand dollars into another bank account. EEK! The picture here is actually from a walking map on google (did you know about that?!). I still haven’t seen the place, being in California and all, but it seems fabulous! Walking distance from the park, only a half mile from one of my best friends, cute bars and restaurants all around – FABULOUS! And I figured out today that it’s only two subway stops from Madison Avenue Presbyterian, which is where I will be workin’ it until they hire me to sing in their choir. I mean, you live in the Upper East Side, you need to work at the ritziest Protestant Church on the island, right? Anyhow, I’m already thinking about the exact shade of sage green I’m painting my room, whether I want a firm or a plush mattress, and how exactly will I get a couch up to my sixth-floor walk-up apartment? I’m already planning to entice all my NYC friends into helping me when I arrive in the city. I think if I can get a few helpers, we can move it all up quickly, then it’s sandwiches and beers for everyone. (Note to those in New York, I’ll be arriving Sunday the 19th – get excited!)
